CELLULITE.....HOW DO YOU GET RID OF IT?

For anyone that might have the answer:

I am currently on my second challenge and have made some progress.  However, I have much work ahead particularly with cellulite behind my thighs....how does one get rid of it?  Does it happen with cardio (HIIT) or with weights.  Or will it just rid itself
in time...perhaps after my 4th challenge?

Also, are topical creams available on Bodybuilding.com helpful....if anyone knows please feel free to share.

KathyB.

just keep dropping your body fat... topical creams are a waste of time... oh, and invest in a foam roller... that will help too

Absolutely ... as Telle said, keep at it. Before starting my challenge, I was beginning to see hints of cellulite on the backs of my thighs. I'm in my 3rd week now and have been working hard on my hamstrings and walking 2mi each day. Husband says there's a definite difference already and the cellulite is gone.

I'd suspect the time it takes to see results is highly dependent on your existing muscle base and amount of body fat. Make lunges and squats your friends! :o)

Telle, how does the foam roller help? My hubby has one that he uses to keep his back loosened up. I've used it on my back, too, but not my legs.

Thanks!

fitover40;Telle:Thank you for the input. I will continue working hard, and not give up. I appreciate the info. Like "tmin" I'd like to know how does a foam roller work?

Thanks once again.

These are food tips from BFLers I've heard...

NO: dairy, alcohol, caffeine, [and junk food obviously] ;)

I've used an Avon cell.gel and I think it helps the appearance, but doesn't make it go away. Only blood, sweat and tears, I think.

You can get reviews on body products and skincare/cosmetics at makeupalley.com. It's an interesting resource for that kind of stuff.

I feel your pain, Kathy B, that's my tough spot...

the foam rollers apparently break up the tissue connections that are "web-like" - it's the web-like connections that cause the bumpy appearance when the fat squishes through...

Oh, and get better genetics because my cellulite isn't going away and apparently genetics is my problem!

The foam rollers are also great for losening up the IT band tightness that you get from sitting so much. It hurts, but its a good hurt! and when you are done you feel super good. They are also good if you have knee issues, cuz losening the tightness in your thighs will help with kneecap tracking...

quadsmom: Thanks for sharing...I saw your pics on your profile...you look absolutely awesome! (jaw dropping-awesome). I want to look like you when I am all done with all of my challenges...keep it up!! Dang, you even look like you've never had kids...how awesome!

Telle: Thanks for the explanation. I too suffer from bad genetics...oh well..nothing comes easily, I guess. I'll just wear pants and long Bermuda shorts during the summer if all else fails ;)

Rebyl: Thank you too for your imput..I will start looking for a foam roller to purchase and see if I can loosen everything up starting from chin-down to my toes.....heehee.
